Monday 24th November

From 9.00am to 6.00pm, CbI presents Africa Investment Exchange: Energy at RSA House, 8 John Adam Street, WC2N 6EZ. This 2 day investment meeting is an opportunity for non-traditional investment sources to meet Africa’s renewable and power sector developers, professional service provider’s entrepreneurs and regional firms through a series of panel discussions, full programme here, ticket are £1,600.00 from here.

From 9.00am to 6.00pm Women and Youth Empowerment Network hosts Women Building Communities at Holiday Inn, Commercial Road, 5 Cavell Street, E1 2HP. This event sees to increase the participation of African women in community development projects. Running till 28th November, registration is £550.00 from here.

At 8.00pm the East London Shakespeare Company presents Romeo and Juliet at Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre 53 Hoe Street, Walthamstow, E17 4SA. This new production transposes William Shakespeare’s play to modern day South Africa. Running till 29th November, tickets are £15.00 from here.
Tuesday 25th November

At 6.00pm Africa Justice Foundation presents Rule of Law: The Experience of Rwanda 20 years after the Genocide at Allen and Overy LLP, 1 Bishops Square, E1 6AD. Chaired by Chris Lane (Africa Justice Foundation), a distinguished panel will discuss rule of law with Rwanda as a case study with Williams Nkurunziza (Rwanda High Commissioner), Professor Nick Jones (Institute of Legal Practice and Development, Nyanza), Catherine Hinwood (AJF) and Douglas Wilson OBE (Foreign and Commonwealth Office). Followed by a reception register for this FREE event here

Wednesday 26th November

At 10.30am Chatham House presents The West African Ebola Crisis: Beyond Short Term Consequences and Responses at Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, 10 St James SW1Y 4LE, chaired by Lord Crisp KCB (All Party Parliamentary Group on Global Health) with Professor Peter Piot (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine) who will assess the wider implications of the 2014 ebola outbreak. At 7.30pm Total Insight Theatre hosts Olaudah Equiano-The Enslaved African at Sutton House, 2-4 Homerton High Street E9 6JQ. This immersive theatre performance portraying the life of Olaudah Equiano runs till 29h November, tickets are £10.00 (£8.00 concs) from here.  

Thursday 27th November

From 9.00am to 5.00pm is Finance for Growth Conference at Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, 45 Prescott Street, Tower Bridge, E1 8GP. This event weeks to connect venture capitalists, private equity investors and business angels with Sub Saharan African entrepreneurs, healthcare, infrastructure and other companies. Friday 28th November

At 6.00pm is The Beehive Phenomenon at The War Memorial, 32 Borough High Street, SE1 1XU. Held at a secret location (the participants will be taken there from the War Memorial) this pop up secret theatre attempts to tell the untold story off the Great War in Africa. Running till the 30th with a performance at 6.00pm and 7.45pm, admission is £8.00 from here.

At 6.00pm is the Imperial College Nigerian Society Symposium 2014 in Queens Tower Room Imperial College, South Kensington, SW7 2AZ. Key note speakers include Igho Sanomi (Taleveras Group), Ademola Adeyemi-Bero (First E&P), Eric Pietrac (Subsea7), Lanre Oloniyi (Tranergy), Clive Carpenter (Business Council for Africa) and Dr Popoola (Engineering Forum of Nigeria) will discuss th problem of aging infrastructure in Nigeria. Saturday 29th November

From 10.00am to 6.00pm is the Styled by Africa Festive Takeover at Styled by Africa, 30-32 Calvert Avenue, Shoreditch, E2 7JP. Moroccan artist Hassan Hajjaj’s will take over the store with a special festive collection of handmade women’s wear and accessories, RSVP this FREE event here.

From 11.00am to 3.30pm is African Diaspora in Development of Africa at London West Valley College, 218-220 Whitechapel Road, E1 1BJ. This event is for members of the African diaspora who seek information about opportunities and pathways to investment and development. Admission is £30.00 from here.
From 12.00pm to 4.30pm is Black Book Swap 6 at Pancras Square Library, 5 Pancras Square, N1C 4AG. The 6th instalment of this literary event sees the opportunity to network, buy, sell or swap books and meet authors and publishing professionals such as Valerie Brandes (Jacaranda Books), Jennifer Makumbi (novelist and lecturer- The Kintu Saga), Dreda Say Mitchell (award winning novelist, broadcaster and journalist), Steven Thompson (novelist-Toy Soldiers), Amanda Wilson (editor Letter to a Young Generation), and Desiree Reynolds (broadcaster, journalist, novelist; Seduce). Sunday 30th November


From 12.00pm to 7.00pm is Open the Gates The African Market at Rich Mix. Featuring over 25 stalls of African fashion, literature, skincare, hair care and beauty, literature, toys, and much more. FREE entry all day

At 7.00pm is Afro Beats Live at Jazz Café, 5 Parkway, Camden, NW1 7PG. Hosted by Abrantee headlining May7ven, Mazi Chcks,AfroB, Shiikane, Delemusic, Bace, Zafi B, Legacy and Stunn, SistasUnite, Sweetboyz, Mista silva, Moelogo, Dotstar, Mr 2Kay, Silvastone, Sonaman, Dizzy Vc, Honey B, Vicky Sola and many more backed by Empire Sounds Live Band, with a special appearance by Ghanaian superstar Atumpan. At 8.00pm is Prana and Mvula Mandondo in Concert at Rich Mix. Siemy Di and Afla Sackey bring together music and the theatre around the rhythm of the drum along with flamenco dancer Lourdes Fernandes and sarod player Ganga Thapa. Mvula Mandondo presents an original concoction of Tanzanian Village Roots music, urban, rumba and other Afro Caribbean influences. Tickets are £7.00 in advance from here and £10.00 on the door.
