From 10.00am to
8.00pm the University of Cape Town presents South Africa’s Democracy-Mandela ‘Cherished Ideal’ in the Atrium Gallery, Old Building, LSE, Clare
Market, WC2A 2AA. This exhibition brings together photographs. Documents
and artefacts illustrating South Africa’s journey to democracy, 20 years after
democratic elections and 50 years after the Rivonia trial. This FREE exhibition runs till 26th
September.

Will Tell Festival screens the Hope Trilogy at The Venue, Pimlico Academy, Lupus Street, SW1V 3AT. This trilogy
consists of Mountains Will Move
(Tanzania), The Other Dreamers (South
Africa) and Beyond Forgiving (South
Africa). Followed by a post screening discussion, this is a FREE event although donations are
kindly appreciated.
At 7.00pm the
South African Film Festival Wood Green screens Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom at the Vue Cinema Wood Green, Hollywood
Green, 180 High Road, N22 6EJ. This programme of documentary screenings
themed Celebrating 20 years of Freedom and Democracy through Film will be
screening Justin Chatwick’s Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom starring Idris Elba.

Presidente at The Venue at Pimlico
Academy. This documentary by Mosco Kamwendo charts the life of Samora
Machel former Mozambican President from his life in his village to the struggle
for independence from Portugal through to their eventual victory using archive
footage and interviews. This is a FREE

Thursday 4th September

is The 2014 MASK Prize Exhibition at The Education Gallery, The Saatchi
Gallery, Duke of Yorks HQ, Kings Road, SW3 4RY. This East African
creativity competition for schools and young people will display works created
by young people up to the age of 25 from Africa and the diaspora. This is a FREE event.
At 6.30pm the how to Academy presents how to: Invest in Africa at the
Conde Nast College of Fashion and Design, 16-17 Greek Street, Soho, W1D 4DR.
This seminar will provide investment advice on the African market from 3
industry experts Algy Cluff (Cluff Natural Resources plc), Aita Ighodaro
