soul, jazz and spoken word will feature Yemi Sax (Nigerian contemporary

Africa Centre hosts The Griot’s Tale at
the Africa Centre, 38 King Street,
Covent Garden, WC2E 8JT. Written and composed by Tunde Jegede this is a
classic story of a young man’s search for truth. Drawing from the ritualistic
aspects of African mysticism with music, poetry, dance and the visual arts,
this fascinating performance is choreographed by Bode Lawal, directed by
Patrice Naiambana, with visual artist and poet Taiwo Emmanuel Jegede and filmmaker
Sunanra

Snakes presents I have a Dream-
Architects of our Republic at the Riverside Terrace, Royal Festival Hall,
Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, SE1 8XX. This is an open air collision of
words, music and film celebrating the 50th anniversary of Martin
Luther King Jrs ‘I have a dream’ speech. Featuring visual displays and choirs,
spoken word artists Hollie McNish, Salena Godden and Charlie Dark, musicians
Zena Edwards, Drew Horley and Dizraeli. Poetry films by AJ McKenna, Conrad
